The Good Shephard, Inc. is a New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) approved & regulated non-profit agency, providing supportive habilitation services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to contribute to the accomplishment of individual life goals, community habilitation and sustainable independence.

Our Services

  • Respite

    Caring for others, while rewarding, can be exhausting. Respite services provide temporary relief from the demands of caregiving, enabling families to better meet the needs of their loved one(s).

  • Community Habilitation

    Community Habilitation Is a Medicaid funded program operated under OPWDD to provide 1:1 training to people with developmental disabilities to enhance the skills needed to successfully live more independently.

  • Day-Hab Without Walls

    Taking place at varying certified sites, Day-Hab services can assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, or improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills including travel and adult education.

  • Housing Subsidy - Independent Living

    OPWDD supports people to live as independently in the community as possible by assisting with housing costs in the form of a housing subsidy.
